About TRMAI Franchises

The Mission

Tiger-Rock Martial Arts International is national franchising company built on the solid principles of its tenets: Honor, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Courage, Community, Strength, Humility and Knowledge. The TRMAI mission is to empower member Instructors and students to enrich their personal, artistic, and professional lives through traditional TaeKwonDo training. Tiger-Rock also teaches safety awareness, attitude, and life skills.

While training authentic and highly skilled TaeKwonDo artists, TRMAI believes the highest purpose of TaeKwonDo education is to prepare students for the responsibilities of citizenship. TaeKwonDo is about real and powerful experiences, resulting in the discovery of innate capabilities and a heightened sense of responsibility. To that end, we encourage our students to use their Martial Arts knowledge to improve our communities through one act of leadership, public service, and mentoring at a time.

Each academy is individually owned and operated. Visit for more information about the TRMAI.

The Meaning of Tiger-Rock

“Tiger-Rock is identified with the symbolism of the Siberian tiger, native to Korea and known for its power, prowess and sense of justice, but unfortunately endangered, just as our tenets are endangered values. As the Tiger symbolizes justice and bravery, the Rock symbolizes the steadfast and immovable life spirit of the Korean and Western civilizations. Tiger-Rock Martial Arts International believes that the success comes from honoring both Korean/Eastern cultural heritage and the philosophy of the Western mind dating back to the Athenian culture, the beginning of Western democratic thought.” –

Safety Awareness

Safety Awareness is important for everyone. It can save your life. The following list of safety tips is a good starting ground for increasing your personal safety at home, in school and around your community.

  • Know how to dial 911.
  • Memorize your full name, address, and phone number.
  • Be able to identify strangers: a stranger may seem friendly, but remember, appearances can be deceiving.
  • NEVER accept a ride home from anyone unless your parents say it is okay. Create a secret code word known only by you and your parents. Never go with someone unless they know the code word!
  • Don't look at the ground as you walk. Instead pay attention to your surroundings and to people walking toward you or around you. Be aware of unusual behavior.
  • Play "What if" games with your parents and friends. ("What if you're lost"...etc.)
  • Wearing conservative attire makes you less likely to be an easy target.
  • Understand what is "appropriate" touching
  • Say "no" if something is wrong. If you're in a situation and something seems wrong, it is wrong.
  • Never be embarrassed to be safe.
  • Look for uniformed adults in case there is a problem.
  • Run and scream if you are in danger.
  • Never walk alone; avoid trails and alleys. Run to a brightly lit area if there is trouble.
  • Avoid loud and unruly groups.

Attitude and Life Skills

Attitude is everything! A good attitude makes good things school, home, and work. Don't be negative. Have on optimistic outlook instead. Positive thinking is a key to achievement in your school, work, and personal life. Values give us character. Having good values makes us people others respect and like. Make good values a part of who you are each day at home, at school, and at play.

Life skills are the building blocks for success! There is much to gain from the experiences of grandparents, parents, teachers, coaches, historic figures and others. Life skills, academic study, and a desire for lifelong learning should be a major focus for students now and throughout their lives.
